Use small circular motions and working the entire edge. Determine the number of strokes employed on a single side of the bevel to replicate your approach on the opposite side of the bevel. After finishing the first side, switch to the other side of the hatchet sharpening puck. Step 3: During the sharpening process, little paste of water and metal will form, do not wipe this off. Step 4: Now it’s time to turn the axe honing stone over and repeat the process with the fine #320 grit side (white side)of the knife sharpener stone.
