For major damage to the edge, however, you may need to resharpen the tool. After sharpening, the leather paddle strop is excellent for removing the raw edge for a perfect result. Since you have two sides of leather, you can have different roughness of the brow paste. The frame has pre-drilled and countersunk holes so that the workpiece can be mounted on e.g. workbench. The wooden piece is handmade from ash and oiled with linseed oil.
