Zircon MetalliScanner m40 Handheld Electronic Metal Detector

The Zircon MetalliScanner m40 electronic metal scanner quickly and easily detects metal in lath and plaster, wood, drywall, paneling, tile, stucco, plaster, concrete and other non-metallic surfaces. This metal detector locates ferrous (magnetic) metal up to 4 inches (100 mm) deep and non-ferrous (non-magnetic) metal up to 2 inches (50 mm) deep. The Zircon m40 has two scanning positions, Wide Scan and Pinpoint Scan. To get started, install the included 9V alkaline battery. Hold the tool in the air away from any metal but make sure the blue sensor is parallel to the surface being scanned. Press and hold the Power Button to calibrate the unit. Once you hear a beep and see the green “Ready” LED illuminated, calibration is complete. Continue to hold the Power Button as you slowly slide the tool across the surface. As the MetalliScanner approaches a metal object, the red LEDs progressively light from the bottom up in both scanning modes. The top lighted blue coil and an audio tone indicate when a metal target is located. This MetalliScanner m40 tool easily solves the very difficult problem of finding studs in lath and plaster walls. It works as a nail finder by detecting the pattern of nails that attach the wood lath to the studs. Additionally, the MetalliScanner m40 metal locator finds plumbing, ductwork, rebar, nails and screws in your walls, floors and ceilings and is great for scanning reclaimed lumber for hidden metal. Now in easy open packaging, this product comes with everything you need to get started, including the battery!
